Mike is a passionate post-secondary educator and administrator, with 18 years of commitment to advocating for and shaping the minds of students for fulfilling careers. As State Representative of the 31st District he will lead with transparency and constituent input.

Professional Journey:

Currently, Mike is the Campus Dean at The Chicago School. Previously, he dedicated over a decade to the City Colleges of Chicago, holding leadership roles at Daley College, Kennedy-King College, and the district office. He also served at Northern Illinois, Chicago State, and Benedictine Universities, respectively.

Education:

Dr. Crawford's educational journey is rooted in Chicago Public Schools (CPS), having graduated from Lane Technical High School, prior to earning his BS and MSEd at Northern Illinois University, MBA at Saint Xavier University, and PhD in Higher Education Leadership at Concordia University Chicago.

Community and Family:

Mike has a beautiful wife, Joy’Ecstacy and 6-year-old twins, they make their home in the Wrightwood neighborhood on the Southside of Chicago. Mike is involved in several service and education oriented organizations, demonstrating his commitment to building a thriving community.

Vision for the Future:

As a candidate, his vision is to bring positive change to the communities of the district, by fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone has input and an opportunity to succeed.
